(Munich, August 31, 2025) The Mitropa Rally Cup (MRC) is back from its summer break and heads into round seven of the 2025 season at Rally Kumrovec in Croatia (September 4–6). A total of 30 registered MRC crews (11 FIA entries, 7 in historic cars, and 12 in the Club Championship) will take on eight tricky asphalt stages covering 98.2 competitive kilometres.
Both championship leaders, Germany’s Hermann Gaßner Jr. with co-driver Ursula Gaßner in a Renault Clio Rally3, and their closest rivals, Hermann Gaßner Sr. with co-driver Karin Thannhäuser in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X R4, will be at the start. Adding extra spice to the family battle is Slovak driver Róbert Kolčák with co-driver Julius Lapdavský, who debuts a brand-new Hyundai i20 N Rally2. He sits just a single point behind Gaßner Sr. in the standings, keeping the title fight wide open.
The compact route stretches over 264.5 kilometres in northern Croatia, right on the Slovenian border. Several of the stages are identical to those used on last year’s World Rally Championship round.
Action begins on Friday (Sept 5) at 17:21 with two short stages totalling just under 15 kilometres before crews head into overnight parc fermé at 21:27.
The rally restarts on Saturday morning at 09:01, with three loops of two stages each. The winners are expected on the finish podium at 18:30 local time.
