Preview: 40th Tiki Rally Velenje as the 4th round of the Mitropa Rally Cup 2025

|

(Munich, May 18, 2025) With its anniversary edition on the occasion of the 40th Rally Velenje, the 4th round of the Mitropa Rally Cup (MRC) starts next weekend (May 22-24, 2025) in Slovenia. On Friday, the 38 registered MRC participants will cross the start ramp at 14:30 to tackle the first 5 special stages over 54 kilometers. The participants are expected back at the stage finish at 21:15, with the restart on Saturday morning at 10:00. A further 6 special stages are then on the program for the teams. A total of 133 kilometers will be completed at race pace. The entire route covers 303 kilometers through the historic landscape of Lower Styria.
Teams from 5 nations (Italy, Slovenia, Hungary, Germany and Austria) will fight for important championship points in the various categories of the Mitropa Rally Cup. In the FIA category, 18 teams will be vying for victory, while 8 teams will be competing in the historic category. The internal Club Championship is also fiercely contested with 12 teams.
Seven teams from the top ten in the current standings will be competing in Velenje. This shows once again how ambitious the teams are in the 60th anniversary year of the Mitropa Rally Cup as they fight for the lead in the championship.
Velenje in Slovenia is located in a slightly hilly landscape of meadows and forests. The rally routes are to be completed entirely on tarmac. Some of the special stages are very fast and mostly lead along rather narrow roads, meaning that accurate pacenotes and the correct reading of the rally co-drivers will play a decisive role in achieving the best times.
